Almost all moms have one common complaint – My baby doesn’t eat vegetables, doesn’t like vegetable juice and when they grow up , veggies are a big NO NO except finger chips and packaged potato chips!! I have seen my cousins go through this phase, so I wanted to make sure that my baby loves veggies, be it in any form.
I started off with giving mixed vegetable soup in a clear liquid form to my baby in her 6th month. Those days I refrained from adding tomato to the soup as I felt the acidity of tomatoes could be a little tough on my baby’s tummy. So from 7th month, deseeded tomatoes were included in her mix veggie soup and I have mastered in the art of making delicious veggie soup to which my lovely lady keeps opening her mouth for more and more.
How to make it? Simple, easy and could be made within minutes, and yes wholesome, healthy and nutritious that’s what I love about this soup. This hearty soup is rich in vitamins, minerals , rich antioxidants and loads of good dietary fibre and I am sure that your baby is gonna love it. And yeah those brats who pick out veggies from their food, this soup is definitely for you.

Hi
My baby is 2+. She is not liking any of the veggies. I tried of making all kind of soups like mixed veg soup, sweet pototato soup, carrot soup etc etc….but she is not liking any of these soups. Forcefully I have to feed her. Can you please suggest me what to do ….
Manu
Here is what I do at home. Cut cucumbers, carrots into long fingers and add a cheese or hung curd dip with pepper and salt. Offer this to your baby. Make vegetable soup and add tomato sauce in it to increase flavor and sweetness. Grate lauki, beetrrot, peas etc and add in her parathas. Add lauki in her khichdis when its pressure cooked. Make everyway possible to add vegetables, it will surely pay off. Hope this helps.

Nice soup. I used to give veggie soups and vegetables in other forms to Aanya once she started solids and touch-wood she still loves her veggies.
Superb priya ..when they are small, if we get our kids get used to soups and other veggies , we wont have to deal with a veggie fussy eater ..thats what i learnt 🙂
Very nice! That's quite a lot of veggies packed in one soup! I'm sure adults will also benefit from having it! 🙂
Yes Roshni …so many vegetable goodness in one ..yes even adults can have it , its yummy ..
Samaira discovered texture very early and pureed food and soups were a big no-no for her. But she ate her veggies & meat and still does. Even now if we give her chicken soup she will look for chicken pieces and dump the soup. 🙂
Thts just great na ? No soups direct plunge to solid textured foods..what more can a mom ask for ?
